Grief is Inevitable

Support is Essential

Research-backed grief and bereavement policy. Lived experience. Real-world tools and executor support.

FEATURED IN

Because loss touches all of us, and no one should have to carry it alone

With no federal requirement for paid bereavement leave, many employees return to work within days of losing a loved one—typically after just three to five days off. Grief does not resolve on a timetable, yet workplace policies often treat loss as a brief interruption rather than a life-altering event. Behind the scenes, executors carry an additional and largely invisible burden: court filings, financial decisions, estate administration, insurance claims, and administrative tasks that can require hundreds of hours to complete. But it doesn’t have to be this way.

BETTER Support can be built,
and it starts here ↓

HELLO, I'm

Cassidie and John Bates

and this
is my dad,
John

I was called to this work after losing my Dad, John, at 25. In the midst of grief, I became the sole executor of his estate—navigating legal systems, paperwork, financial decisions, and responsibilities I was never prepared for. That experience revealed how little infrastructure exists to support those who are both grieving and responsible for managing what comes next.

This isn’t just my career. It is a deeply personal commitment to building stronger systems for executors, employees, and the workplaces that depend on them.
